Looking back on over 125 years of experience, the IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH focusses on the efficient and attractive packaging of pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, and has emerged as the market leader for automatic tube fill machines. The IWK has two production sites in Germany, and is internationally represented with a site in Thailand. The company also sells cartoning machines that are specifically tailored to the requirements of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. Moreover, the IWK offers high-power machines for the collection, sorting, and arranging of different products throughout running processes.

The project

The IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH uses calcIT for the creation of different offers for its customers. The calculation of different price list positions helps with the control and calculation of costs. The company uses a connection to the SAP system and an Excel add-in for automatic data transfers.

STARTING POSITION

Before the calcIT implementation, the IWK used different tools for the creation of offers and calculations – among them was Excel. This was tied to enormously time-intensive data transfers between the systems, such as a continuous maintenance and renewal of price list positions.

Specific requirements

Specific functions and requirements of the IWK were realized in calcIT. For example, an authorization workflow was illustrated, calculation and offer creation were tightly connected, and different views (view sets) for various members of staff were set up.
